Malaria found in 108 persons in Azerbaijan this year

It turned out during the 6 months of this year that there are 108 persons infected with malaria in Azerbaijan. This infectious disease was found in 57 of them on June.
All of these patients were infected with malaria last year.

According to the information given to APA from the Republic Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the number of the persons infected with malaria reduced this year in comparison with the previous year. It was determined in 6 months of the last year that 189 persons have malaria. The reason of patients’ being infected with malaria were mosquitoes.

Malaria was found in the residents of Aghsu, Sabirabad, Fuzuli, Saatli, Kyurdamir, Sheki, Aghjabedi regions this year. It was informed from the center that it was revealed in June that another some persons were infected with malaria. They live in Ujar, Lenkeran and Saatli regions. Disinfection works are realized in the regions, especially in the regions where malaria is mostly spread for preventing malaria’s spread.
