Azerbaijan on visit agenda UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture

Azerbaijan, Nicaragua and Nigeria are among the countries the United Nations Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (SPT) will visit, the official website of the UN said.

During a country mission, the SPT representatives will visit the places of deprivation of liberty and will become familiar with the situation there.

The SPT's role is to prevent and eliminate torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and punishment of detainees.
