
Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company created all the necessary conditions to ensure the voting process in the ships, which will be in the sea on the day of presidential elections in the country, head of Company's press service Vugar Sadigov told Trend on Monday.
Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 9. Previous presidential elections were held on October 15, 2008. The presidential elections in Azerbaijan are held every five years.
According Sadigov, to ensure the voting process on all ships that will be in the sea on the day of the presidential election, the polling stations are established.
"Lists of members of the crew of these vessels have already been approved and, accordingly, they will vote in these polling stations," he said.
According to the head of the Company's press service, after the completion of the voting process, using the means of communication, the one responsible for voting on the ship - the captain -will quickly pass the information on the voting to the shore.
In turn, according to Sadigov, all employees of the Shipping Company, including ship crew of the ships that are in the country, in particular the vessels on repair, will vote at their place of residence.
"All employees of the Company based on land and on ships at sea, will actively participate in the voting process," the head of the press service said.
As SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) told Trend on Monday, in accordance with the electoral law, all conditions are created for SOCAR employees, which will be on duty at sea on ships and platforms in the voting period, to ensure their participation in the electoral process.
"Employees of the company will be able to vote on offshore production platforms, large vessels. Upon completion of the voting process, all data will be transferred to the shore for counting", he State Oil Company stressed.
British BP, which is a party to major oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan, also created all the necessary conditions to ensure the voting in the presidential election.
As BP told Trend on Monday, since mid-September, the company has started to prepare all the necessary conditions for participation in election of the employees who will be on duty at the objects in the sea on the election day.
"In particular, the conditions are created for workers on offshore platforms to vote," the company stressed.
According to BP, workers of land objects, in particular the employees of Sangachal oil terminal will be delivered by special buses to the nearby polling station to vote in accordance with the electoral law.
