Azerbaijani Ministry of Education intends to establish a fund for the development of education, the Education Minister Mikail Jabbarov told at a business meeting, organized by the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), on Thursday.
According to him, the fund will operate in Azerbaijan and at the international level.
Jabborov said that he will work on the issue of the fund, and noted that using information technology in education opens up great opportunities.
The Minister noted that in Azerbaijan 1695 schools are connected to high speed internet.
"The use of information technology in education opens up great opportunities. But there are some shortcomings in this area. For example, all schools are provided with computers, but they are not connected to the Internet. Their connection to the internet should be provided," he stressed.
