The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry reported that the ceasefire regime was again violated on contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian armies.
The Armenian troops opened fire at positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces located at Gizilhajili village of Gazah region from the positions located in the village Berkaber of Armenia's Ijevan region yesterday and last night.
Azerbaijani positions located in the nameless heights of Tovuz region were fired from the territory of the village Aygedzor of Armenia's Berd region.
At the same time, positions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces were fired from the positions located near the occupied villages of Tartar, Goranboy ,Agdam, Fizuli and Geygel regions.
The shooting was countered by return fire.
For over two decades, Azerbaijan and Armenia have been locked in conflict which emerged over Armenia's territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor. Since a war in the early 1990s, Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. A fragile ceasefire has been in place since 1994, but long-standing efforts by US, Russian and French mediators have been largely fruitless so far. Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on its pullout from the neighboring country's territories.
