The introduction of a common color for taxis in Azerbaijan will be carried out gradually.
Press secretary of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent Fazil Talibli told that the committee has already introduced the "Buildings and cars of passenger stations" standard made by the Ministry of Transport. That standard will be mandatory for private entrepreneurs and legal entities engaged in passenger transportation. "Nevertheless, the introduction of the novel standard is going to be implemented little by little" he told.
Talibli added that the approval of the new standard regarding the colors of the cars providing taxi service will demand car colors to be violet in Baku, grey in Ganja and white in Sumgait. According to the "Buildings and cars of passenger stations" standard, transport facilities engaged in intercity service should be in dark red color.
