
The persons possessing real estates in the territory of Azerbaijan worth 100,000 manats or keeping the same amount of money in Azerbaijani banks will be able to obtain the right for temporary residence in the country.
The remarks were made by the chief of the State Migration Service (SMS), 3rd rank migration service counsellor Firudin Nabiyev in an interview to the newspaper Republic.
Taking into consideration country's rapid development, people who have invested in the country's economy at least 500,000 manats, will obtain the right for temporary residence for up to three years, Nabiyev added.
In addition, the Migration Code reflected the provision on the extension of temporary residence permit up for two years. It should be noted that the temporary residence permit is issued for a year.
Also at the Migration Code reflected the issue of a issuing permission for temporary or permanent residence as an exception to persons who are the carriers of dangerous viral diseases, persons who are married to citizens of Azerbaijan, as well as to the persons without citizenship.
The head of the SMS also informed about the changes in the migration code, which entered into force on August 1. In particular, the registration on the place of stay of foreigners and persons without citizenship and the application of other relevant standards were simplified. One of the changes regulated by the Code is related to the migration of foreigners and stateless persons. These include procedures for registration, its goals and provisions.
According to Nabiyev, with the adoption of the code, the procedures of transit passage of foreigners and statelss persons through the territory of the country will be changed. With the help of unified information system on migration the procedures for registration of foreigners on the place of stay were defined and the whole registration procedure was simplified.
