Relatives of child injured at water park express gratitude to Azerbaijani President and First Lady for their assistance in medical treatment - UPDATE

Two-year-old Imran Jafarzade received serious injuries in an incident at a water park.
Imran Jafarzade's state is under the special control of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, Imran's mother Nurida Jafarova told Trend today.

She expressed gratitude for the assistance to the President and his wife.

"I express my deep gratitude to the President, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and all those who support me today," she said.

She stressed that Imran's state is serious and stable. He is experiencing severe pain.
It was announced on Wednesday that two-year old Imran Jafarzade will be treated at the state expense.

Imran Jafarzade was sucked into the pumping system of the pool at the Nabran Holiday Village water park on July 21 in his parents' ad other people's presence. The boy lost both legs. The child's condition is critical. The Khachmaz region prosecution office is investigating the tragic incident.

The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office filed a criminal case on two articles in connection with the incident.

As a result of the investigation it was revealed that Imran Jafarzade with his father was in the pool in the center, where they rested, that day at 12:30. At this time, the device installed near the pool and called as "Akvapark", was brought into operation. Imran Jafarzade was sucked into the pumping system of the pool because of the lack of protection grid. As a result, he was seriously injured.

The Regional Prosecutor's Office a criminal case was filed under article 162.1 (violation of safety rules) and article 314.2 (negligence) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

The investigation is underway.
