The beautiful city of Baku seems to have a very special ‘magnetic’ quality, which draws in imaginative, talented and creative people.
One such person who recently visited our city is the Dutch artist Joseph Klibansky. Based in Amsterdam, Joseph has gained a worldwide reputation due to his own, unique style that has been described as producing “ innovative creations in bright colors”. Klibansky’s work shows a surprisingly powerful imagery combined with powerful energy which has been described, by Modern Art as having ‘Stopping Power”.
Each individual Klibansky artwork is composed of between 300 – 600 different images, each combined to show the viewer a new, intriguing and dynamic picture of the world, through the eyes of the artist. Frequently, slightly, surrealistic in style, each piece of art is always brightly colored and produced in large format, using a mixture of computer imagery, graphic art and painting techniques. http://www.josephklibansky.com/en/
Klibansky’s main interests are focused on architecture and the city, particularly those fast
moving, densely populated, urban environments, compressed into a small area. The artist travels the world in search of new experiences and inspiration and favorite themes are large cities such as Singapore, New York, Paris and Dubai.
Joseph has now paid a visit to Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. As an artist, Klibansky was attracted to the city architecture and the modern changes that are to be seen in the dynamics of the buildings being constructed now, as he put it, “I had to see this with my own eyes”. The artist visited the office of Baku White City Project and commented that “the idea of building a contrasting White City on the site of the famous Black City is such a simple concept, like all great ideas and this project deserves attention throughout the architectural world, whilst its implementation is worthy of both admiration and respect” and he admired the fact that even though the projects were ultra modern, they complemented the architectural heritage and identity of Baku without damaging the future of both the old and the new.
During his brief stay in Baku, Joseph managed to see almost all the old and new architectural masterpieces of the city including the Flame Towers and the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre that are fast becoming famous the world over.
"Just arrived in the stunningly beautiful city of Baku" - he wrote on his popular Facebook page and that caused quite a stir amongst the local art lovers. https://www.facebook.com/josephklibanskyart
Our talented guest said that he left Baku, enriched with ideas and a thirst for their implementation and was certainly most willing to return to Azerbaijan again.
