Major overhaul underway on one of Azerbaijan's highways

Major overhaul is being carried out on the Aghstafa-Pouly highway bordering Georgia.
 
Long term exploitation of the mentioned road belonging to the third technical category caused the overhaul to be implemented.
 
‘Azeryolservice’ JSC of the Transport Ministry reported on it..
 
Reconstruction of the 59-kilometer road and major rebuilding of three bridges are envisaged within the project.
 
Construction of the man-made structures has been finished, while two-layer asphalt cover has been laid on the 20 km part of the road. Other parts of the road will undergo the same process, too.
 
Aforementioned work that began on November 2011 is planned to be completed by late this year.
