Discussion on fight with corruption held in Baku

Justice Minister of Azerbaijan, Fikret Mammadov met a delegation of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) led by its chair Edgardo Angara.

Mr. Angara said Azerbaijan fights effectively against corruption under leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He dwelt upon the effective activity of the State Commission for Combating Corruption and Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General`s Office.

He spoke of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) co-founded by Azerbaijan. Mammadov, who is Vice-President of the IAACA, highlighted the importance of building cooperation with the GOPAC.

The delegation underlined they are impressed with the measures put in place to fight corruption in Azerbaijan. Mr. Angara stressed the importance of expanding cooperation to combat corruption.
