City belonging to I millennium before century found in Azerbaijan

A settlement belonging to the beginning of the I millennium before century was discovered in Azerbaijan.
 
The head of the expedition of Sheki-Gakh-Oguz archeology and ethnography institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Nasib Mukhtarov told.
 
According to him, ancient settlement and necropolis were uncovered during planting trees in the forest Juyurlu in Sheki. Preliminary archeological investigations lets conclude that the age of this settlement is 3900-3800 years  - late bronze and early iron ages.

Number of human and animal skeletons, as well as kitchen and eatery utensils were revealed throughout excavations.

The thickness of area’s cultural layer is 70 cm yet. Excavation to be kept for 2 months.
