The Egyptian weekly newspaper Al-Akhbar Al-Youm has published an article titled “Khojaly residents address appeal to the world community and the United Nations” (http://akhbarelyom.org.eg/news141228_23.aspx).
The author of the article Warda al-Husseini noted that Khojaly residents addressed an appeal to the international community in order to assess the political and legal assessment of the Khojaly massacre perpetrated by the Armenian forces in 1992.
Khojaly residents believe that the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will pay attention to the politico-legal assessment of the massacre.
The author writes: “Many historical documents show that hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis were subjected to ethnic cleansing and genocide in their own historical lands during the years 1905-1907 and 1918-1920 and 1948-1953.
It was noted that Armenian allegations on the territory of Azerbaijan was renewed in 1988 and it led to the outbreak of the Armenian separatist movement that does not have any historical justification in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Armenia has not implemented four resolutions of the Security Council of the United Nations on the withdrawal of armed forces from the Azerbaijani territory. It is a sharp blow to the influence of that organization," the article adds.
