BP arranges technology exhibition in Baku

A technology exhibition organized by BP took place here on Tuesday.

Speaking to the event, new BP Regional President Gordon Birrell told of the aims of the event.

He noted BP exploration and production technologies group`s senior managers and specialists are in Baku to discuss long-term technology use plans.

Birrell noted the company has invested 0.5 billion dollars on development, application of exploration and production technologies. Of this amount, 10% falls to Azerbaijan. These works involved 300 personnel.

SOCAR Vice-President Khoshbakht Yusifzade said in his remarks that BP-organized event is useful in terms of the company`s future plans.

Yusifzade pointed out that Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field has so far produced 296 tons of crude of which 151 million tons are profit oil.

Then, participants watched a documentary Science and Discoveries devoted to new energy production methods.
