Aylisli’s ‘historical’ novel directed against history

21 February 2013 [12:14] - TODAY.AZ
Akram Aylisli presents us as barbarians, occupants and invaders on these lands, but Armenians as natives.

Writer Elchin Huseynbayli told it commenting on Akram Aylisli’s “Stone dreams” novel.

According to him, Aylisli’s novel itself is written very poorly. Political direction is obviously traced. And author himself doesn’t deny that his aim was not history or justice, in principle. Romance is one-sided and slanders Azerbaijan society, Turks, Huseynbayli underlined.

"He doesn’t give any explanation why that Turk came to Aylis and started the war. While everyone is aware of what dashnaks did in Baku and Anadolu, as well as in Nakhichevan. He even distorts all events. His historical novel appeared to be directed against us and against history. No justice can be found there. And Aylisli himself goes against our national thought, national goal and calumniates us” he said.

Writer noted that someone tries to present this novel to foreign readers as “call for peace” and doesnt’ think that “Stone dreams” is in fact call for enmity.

This novel – is a serious blow to the Azerbaijani society, those who are not familiar with our history, began to doubt it.

"Akram Aylisli speaks of events without interpretation and order. Novel is one-sided and its author blames only us, considering that we supposedly should repent” – he added.

Huseynbayli notes that events in the novel take place in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Aylsli shows Azerbaijanis as newcomers, who allegedly came and seized Armenian villages by killing and robbing.

"The whole nation can not be bad, just like the whole nation can not be good. But in Aylisli’s novel we are absolutely bad, while Armenians absolutely good and fair. Author can create an image of a negative character, but not a whole people. Akram Aylisli’s novel directed not only against Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis, but also against Armenians themselves and those who seek peace. It can be said that the novel is against humanity. " Elchin Huseynbayli briefed.
