Development expected in some provisions of gas and electricity supply fields

The Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan will develop provisions for the application of new regulations in the field of gas and electricity supply, the Ministry official Ibrahim Agayev told media in Baku.

According to Agayev, draft laws on "Gas Supply" and on "Electric power industry", as well as some provisions on gas supply and the network code have been developed in order to bring the legislation into line with EU standards. To date the documents are under discussion and approval by the appropriate structures.

According to experts, the use of these legal documents at this stage is not possible. Agayev noted that the process of transition to a new system in the gas supply will be easier than in electricity, as this area has a more complex structure.
