Azerbaijan, SA consider educational coop

zerbaijan and South Africa have explores ways of developing the bilateral cooperation in the field of education as Azeri ambassador Elkhan Polukhov met Eugene Cloete, vice-rector of the Stellenbosch University (SU).

Polukhov stressed the existence of “huge potential for development of relations between universities of the two countries”.

He emphasized the importance of carrying out student and teacher exchange and establishing research centers under higher schools of Azerbaijan and South Africa.

Cloete praised relations between universities in the two countries.
“Stellenbosch University is recognized as one of the four top research universities in South Africa. It takes pride in the fact that it has one of the country`s highest proportions of postgraduate students of which almost ten percent are international students."
Azerbaijani ambassador also met Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Cape Town, Professor Thandabantu Nhlapo and member of the South African parliament Nomalungelo Gina.

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is a public research university located in Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. UCT was founded in 1829 as the South African College, and is the oldest university in South Africa and the second oldest extant university in Africa. The language of instruction is English.
