2nd screening stage of 3rd Republican mugham contest begins - UPDATE - PHOTOS

The 2nd selection stage of the 3rd Republican mugham competition has started in Baku.

Organized by the Ministry of Education and National Conservatory, the event is supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The event saw participation of 10 contestants who performed on Azeri national musical instruments such as tar, kamancha, balaban and canon.
The participants are chosen by Siyavush Kerimi, rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, people`s artists Mohlet Muslumov, Fakhraddin Dadashov, Nazim Kazimov, Mammadagha Karimov, Tarana Aliyeva and Elshad Jabbarov.

The jury panel of the competition includes people`s artists Alibaba Mammadov, Arif Babayev, Agakhan Abdullayev, Mansum Ibrahimov, Aygun Bayramova, and Zabit Nabizade.

The 3rd Republican mugham Competition has kicked off in the capital, Baku.

Organized by the Ministry of Education and National Conservatory, the event is supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The first selection stage of the competition saw participation of 11 performers.

The second stage will be held on February 13, which will be followed by a gala concert of the winners on February 15.
