Azerbaijan, Turkey eye judicial coop

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Justice Minister, head of the penitentiary service Madat Guliyev has met a delegation of Turkey`s Justice Ministry including deputy head of Central Directorate Fazil Dogan, department hear Ahmet Basaran, and judges Burak Cil and Mehmet Takimsun to discuss prospects for developing judicial cooperation between the two countries.

Guliyev highlighted ongoing judicial and democratic reforms in Azerbaijan, as well as improvements in the country`s penitentiary system.

They discussed improvement of legislation, modernization of judicial
infrastructure in Azerbaijan, and underlined the importance of experience exchange on this front.

They also exchanged views on how to improve the bilateral exchange of prisoners in accordance with international conventions.
The Turkish delegation will visit some detention facilities during their stay in Baku.
