
Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Education and Korean Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry have signed a grant agreement for creation of Electronic Education Network and Digital Multimedia Infrastructure for Nakhchivan State University.
The agreement was signed by Azeri Education Minister Misir Mardanov and Korean Ambassador Choi Suk-inn.
Speaking to the signing ceremony, Minister Mardanov praised the educational relations between Azerbaijan and Korea. The Minister stressed the importance of Korea-implemented educational projects in Azerbaijan.
Mardanov noted the importance of the grant agreement on creation of Electronic Education Network and Digital Multimedia Infrastructure for Nakhchivan State University.
The Minister pointed out to President Ilham Aliyev`s announcing 2013 the Year of Information and Communication technologies in Azerbaijan.
Mardanov highlighted Azerbaijan`s achievements in applying information and communication technologies in education.
The Azeri Minister said the agreement would contribute to developing the educational cooperation between the two countries.
Korean Ambassador Choi Suk-inn spoke of the relations between the two countries, praising the educational cooperation.
Rector of Nakhchivan State University Isa Habibbayli said the university had signed cooperation agreements with more than 80 higher educational institutions worldwide.
He said a total of 324 foreign students from 10 countries, including 7 Koreans were receiving education at Nakhchivan State University.
The agreement will see the creation of a portal for providing online education services to students of Nakhchivan State University, as well as the creation of an electronic library for distant education, and digital multimedia infrastructure.
