"Pockets" proposed for highways of Baku

“Pocket on the roads” should be built in the highways. Baku-Mardakan, Baku-Alat, Baku-Sumgait, Darnagul highways and autobahn can be equipped with appropriate branches. Shortly, “pockets in the roads” is important in that highways which “witness” accidents more. Since car causes accident situation exactly during accidents and urges the other cars to stop, it takes a lot of time while it is evacuated. But the presence of that “pockets” can prevent the aforementioned situation. Even during the Soviet times specially offshoot places were built on motorways ,sort of "pockets" ,but then they were removed for some reasons," said in an interview with " Echo " the director of consulting company MBA Consulting Nusret Ibrahimov.

“There are not “pocket on the roads” in Baku” said in his turn to “Echo” the head of Free Consumers Union of Azerbaijan (FCUA), Eyyub Huseynov. Mentioned branches are not useful only in the traffic jams, but in the cases if the people feel themselves bad, want to rest and make an urgent phone call. “Pockets on the roads” are very important for car breakdowns.
Meanwhile, there are special pocket-sumps in the roads of Europe, where all necessary can be found.  

Typically, roadsides are not as useful as expected in the speed highways with heavy traffic, and there are “pockets” and special sites off the carriageway.  Pocket – extension on one side of the road, designed to stop the car without hindering the traffic.
