Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and International Organization for Migration will sign a deal on cooperation. The deal will help coordination of mine actions, ANAMA`s press service said.

The agreement will envisage cooperation on local and international level. ANAMA and IOM have been cooperating since 2007 in rendering assistance to survivors of landmine accidents.

The two organizations have effectively implemented “Socio-Economic Reintegration Program for Mine Victims in Azerbaijan” covering 2007-2012s. The program was funded by Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance, governments of Slovenia and Korea, as well as Rotary Club of Baku International.
As part of the above mentioned program, 190 landmine victims were trained on business and management skills. Some 140 of those were provided with microcredit to enlarge their businesses and expand their activities.
