07 January 2013 [19:35] - TODAY.AZ
All the victims of the earthquake in the Iranian province of Eastern Azerbaijan have been provided with permanent or temporary apartments; no one is staying in a tent. This was said by provincial governor, Ahmed Alireza Baig, the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan informed Trend on Monday.

According to him, in resolving social issues, the role of clergy is undeniable, and there would be no progress without it. Therefore, in the first days after completion of the rescue operation and the operation for resettlement, a meeting of the clergy in the affected region had been held, and the clergy was informed about decisions of the state in this area.

The earthquake zone had been cleared of three million tons of debris, Baig said.

Noting that the state mobilized all its capabilities, Baig said that people in the earthquake area have been provided with more than 11 thousand permanent homes.

In addition to providing the population with apartments, over 10,000 of warehouses for storage of agricultural products have been built. The Red Crescent Society with the help of philanthropists provided residents of restored apartments with four basic types of products, Baig said.
