More three-star hotels to appear in Baku

Baku will pay great attention to the construction of three-star hotels, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev told media today.

Garayev said that a variety of services must be ensured.

There are enough five-and four-star hotels in Azerbaijan, he said.

"At present, we must start constructing lower category hotels," he said. "A process of introducing the new rules of getting "stars" by hotels, approved by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents and meeting international standards will be launched from 2013. These rules have been tightened enough."

The winter and summer tourist complex "Shahdag" will fully operate till 2015, minister added.

The first phase of the complex has been recently opened with the Azerbaijani President's participation.
