
A grant agreement under which the Japanese government will finance the construction of a medical center in Samukh, a district in Azerbaijan, has been signed.
The signing ceremony, which took place in Samukh, brought together Japanese ambassador to Azerbaijan Shusuke Watanabe, head of Young leaders NGO Sabina Alakbarova and head of Samukh Executive Authorities Ali Gojayev.
Speaking to the ceremony, Alakbarova said the medical center would server more than 2,000 people in Girmizi Samukh village. Head of Samukh Executive Authorities Gojayev praised the Azerbaijan-Japan relations, saying they were rapidly developing. He thanked the Japanese government for assisting the implementation of different projects in Azerbaijan.
Japanese ambassador Watanabe spoke of the projects the embassy had implemented in Azerbaijan in 10 years. He said the embassy had carried out more than 180 projects in Azerbaijan so far.
The medical center in Girmizi Samukh village will be commissioned by May, 2013.
