Skal Int'l Baku holds meeting

 Regular, the 12th meeting of the Baku SKAL-club, a member of the International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals SKAL, was held in Divan Express Baku Hotel on December 19.
First of all meeting started with the report about the work done after the 11th session and discussion of activity of the club.

President of Baku SKAL Club and general manager of the tourism company “Millennium Tourism & Congress DMC” Ruslan Guliyev, addressed the audience with introductory remarks.
He spoke about the history of organization, and the structure of the governing bodies of the annual world congress of SKAL International, the principles and activities of the International Club.

Particularly, he gave information about the participation of the Baku Club in number of International Tourism Exhibitions and other events, for the expanding the number of staff members and the Sister clubs of Baku SKAL as Rome, Paris, Los Angeles, Antalya and Cyprus.
"Skal International Baku is the first organization between CIS countries. On October 8, 2009 in Hillside hotel of Baku took place solemn opening ceremony of Skal International Baku with the official support of Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Ministry. The main aim of the club is to establish contacts and close cooperation with similar clubs in other countries, providing comprehensive assistance to colleagues from other countries and to exhibit the tourism potential of Azerbaijan to all over the world and tourism lovers, tourists” he said.
The meeting participants discussed a number of pressing issues that are the focus of tourist community of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the presentation of new magazine “Evimiz Azerbaijan” (Azerbaijan is our home) was also presented to the participants. The editor-in-chief of the magazine is Sevil Zeynalgizi.

Finally, the web site www.azerbaijanbooking.com, as well as presentation of new Hotel Divan Express Baku, comprising 62 rooms, was presented to the participants.

Skal is a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. Skal International is governed by an Executive Committee of seven members, elected by delegates to an annual General Assembly, held during the World Congress, hosted by a different country each year. This allows members first-hand observation of the travel and tourism potential around the world.
