Azerbaijan to move to 12-year education

 The issue on switching to12-year general education system in Azerbaijan by 2020 has been confirmed. This issue has been reflected in the “Azerbaijan 2020: Vision of the Future” Development Conception.

 Methodical measures will be taken to ensure the switch from the existing “Memory school” delaying cognitive activity and general development of pupils to the “School of thought and expression". Education will be organised on biases at the complete secondary education level and individual programs will be launched for talented children.

 However, various developing, corrective and inclusive education programs will be implemented for children with special needs and disabilities. The ongoing works on the construction and reconstruction of schools will be continued, a special program will be developed and implemented on the rationalization of the network of educational institutions.
