Roughly 100 new passenger carriages will be purchased

As part of the renovation of rolling stock, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC plans to buy 100 new passenger carriages, the deputy head of the company Gurban Nazirov said on Friday.

According to him, requests have been made for the purchase and the negotiation process is underway.

In addition and according to Nazirov, the purchase of 50 locomotives is planned for cargo transportation and 12 will be purchased for passenger transportation.

"During the renovation of the rolling stock, some 50 passenger carriages were sent to the Ukraine for overhaul. In addition, the repair of another 30 carriages is planned," Nazirov said.
