Landslides recorded in Baku

Landslide occurred in Sabail district of Baku, head of the National Geological Exploration Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Bakhtiyar Garalov said.

According to him, the landslide occurred at about 13:00, in the left side of motor road to 20th kilometer from Badamdar settlement, in the area, located in front of Beyoglu restaurant. Landslide was recorded in the eastern slope of Badamdar plateau. Width of landslide is 180-220 meters, length – 250 meters, visible depth of the crack – about 4-5 meters.

Garalov noted that they viewed the area together with the specialists of Ministry of Emergency Situations: “We viewed that area and assessed the event. The road through the area must be closed temporarily. There are newly-constructed houses in the area. All waste water flows to the slope and this causes landslide. This must be prevented absolutely”.
