
Rafig Safarov, graduate of the Geodynamics and Seismology Department of the Geology Institute of Azerbaijan (GIA), has successfully completed the seismological courses for specialization in earthquake seismology in Japan.
“Seismology, earthquake engineering and disasters management policy” courses, supported by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, were conducted at the National Institute for Political Studies of Japan and the Earthquake Engineering Institute.
The young scholar was granted certificate of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency and diploma of master’s degree.
As stated, the Japanese courses have involved 23 young scholars and engineers from 14 world countries, including China, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Macedonia, etc. The Geology Institute of Azerbaijan sends young specialists to foreign countries to gain experience in certain fields of science and engineering necessary for the country.
