Azerbaijan's 3rd city transfers to self-financing since 2013

The State Program of Socio-Economic Development of Regions of Azerbaijan starts bringing real fruits.

At a joint meeting of the parliamentary committees finance minister Samir Sharifov has said that since 2013 the third city in the country – Shirvan transfers to self-financing.

"If previously Baku has existed without subsidizing as well as the city of Sumgait since 2012 and Shirvan city will join them since 2013 that became the consequence of creation of conditions for increasing the income of local budgets. As a result, subsidies to local budgets from the state budget are reduced by 53%," the minister said.

According to the draft law on State Budget 2013 the general subsidies for regions of the country will amount to AZN 812.477 million.
