
The winners of the final race "City Challenge" in Baku were identified.
The winners are the pilots of McLaren MP4 GT3 car Frederick Makovieski and Steph Dusseldorf. They are the members of Hexis team.
The second place was taken by the pilots of BMW Z4 Kechel and Lauda, ??the third place got the car BMW Z4 drivers Yelmer Burman and Nicholas Meyer-Melnhof.
24 drivers participated in the final race.
Note, a qualifying session and City Challenge sprint race started in Baku on Saturday. Car race started on Azadlig Square in Baku. The cars taking part in the race are: Porsche 911, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Audi R8 LMS, BMW Z4 GT3, Ferrari 458 ?talia GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo LP 600 +, and Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3.
Practice sessions on GT, Classic Grand Prix and Gymkhana City Drifting competitions of City Challenge were held on Friday.
The technical capabilities of the cars will be demonstrated, a parade and the final part of the "City Challenge Baku-2012" will be held on the main day of the competition, Oct.28.
The 2.1-km long City Challenge race circuit runs round Government House. Ten teams represented by two pilot drivers will take part. During the competition all safety rules are respected in accordance with the requirements of the local Auto Transport Federation and international standards.
A parade of those cars participating in the race took place on Oct.25.
First they gave a demonstration on Azadlig Square, then raced on a special track along the coastal strip to the Kempinski Badamdar Hotel.
At a press conference held at the Kempinski Badamdar Hotel, City Challenge CEO Hartmut Beyer said that the races will be observed by about 300 million people in over 120 countries and Baku will be in the spotlight of the world.
Also, the racing drivers competing in City Challenge Baku-2012, signed autographs in Park Bulvar. They were Karim Al Azhari (UAE), Nicki Thiim (Denmark) and Philipp Eng (Austria).
Previously, City Challenge was held in Budapest and Bucharest.

09:07City Challenge Baku yesterday started in the capital of Azerbaijan with a car parade involving seven different car brands, with the top sports car manufacturers BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
City Challenge races are a spectacular urban motorsport experience with excitement, fun and action for children and adults alike. The inauguration ceremony featured a press conference by the organizers and the presentation of race cars.
City Challenge CEO Hartmut Beyer said a temporary 2.1km-long race track was installed around the impressive Azerbaijan Government House, near the seaside boulevard and the Caspian Sea.
According to him, the show will be broadcast to 300 million people in 120 countries worldwide.
The races will be held around the Government House. One circle extends to 2,300 meters. Race cars overcome this distance in about 54 seconds.
The event is held with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Motorsport Federation of Azerbaijan.
