Ecology ministry reports about current condition in rivers

 According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently water richness holds 85-145% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region of Major Caucasus, 60-80% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 10-40% in Lenkaran Astara region rivers, while 50% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.


On October 24, no change of water level was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 120 m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 73% of decade norm (in 2011, 173m3/sec, i.e 105% of decade norm).

On October 24, no change of water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh river. At present water consumption holds 46 m3/sec, i.e 50% of decade norm. (in 2011, 65 m3/sec, i.e 71% of decade norm).


On October 24, diminution of water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura river. In this regard, 7cm decrease of water level has been issued in Surra settlement of Kura river, 4 cm in Shirvan and 22 cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river, while 12 cm increase of water level was issued in Banka and 6 cm in Salyan.

Currently, water level holds 309cm (on October 24, 2011, 416cm) in Surra settlement, 169cm (on October 24, 2011, 300cm ) in Shirvan, 149cm (on October 24, 2011, 319cm) in Salyan, 199cm (on October 24, 2011, 248cm) in Banka, while 90 cm (on October 24, 2011, 158 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
