Azeri ombudsman meets US diplomat

Azerbaijan`s Commissioner for Human Rights Elmira Suleymanova has met the US` newly appointed ambassador Richard Morningstar to discuss human rights cooperation between the two countries.

Suleymanova briefed Morningstar on the activity of the Ombudsman Office, particularly its cooperation with government agencies and nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, and diplomatic offices, including the US embassy.

She expressed confidence the cooperation with the United States would further develop.
Morningstar praised the Ombudsman Office`s efforts to strengthen the protection of human rights in the country.
