Ecology ministry monitors Kura and Araz transboundary rivers

According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources currently water richness holds 90-140% of decade norm in Quba-Khachmaz region of Major Caucasus, 55-75% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 15-55% in Lenkaran Astara region rivers, while 50% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

On October 12, 3cm increase of water was issued in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 129m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 76% of decade norm (in 2011, 140m3/sec, i.e 83% of decade norm).
On October 12, no change of water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh river. At present water consumption holds 46m3/sec, i.e 43% of decade norm. (in 2011, 64m3/sec, i.e 60% of decade norm).

Currently water level holds 305cm (on October 12, 2011, 429cm) in Surra settlement, 182cm (on October 12, 2011, 330cm ) in Shirvan, 152cm (on October 12, 2011, 353cm) in Salyan, 201cm (on October 12, 2011, 251cm) in Banka, while 100cm (on October 12, 2011, 215cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras  river.
