Baku metro unveils future modernization plans

Three new lines of Baku Metro are expected to be constructed in the future, a source at Baku Metro Management reported.
 
The first priority direction is laying of a new subway line, which will consists of five stations (‘Avtovogzal-Memar Ajami-2 - B3 - B4 - B5). The length of this route will be 6.8 kilometers. This area includes the Baku International Bus Station, 3 and 4 districts, Tbilisi Avenue and Fizuli Street.
 
The next priority is the construction of the second underground line consisting of 8 stations (VI Station - Y3 - Boyukshor - Koroglu-2- Bakikhanov - Y-22 - Garachukhur - Yeni Guneshli). The length of the route is to be 12.5 kilometers that will includes the villages Kohna and Yeni Guneshli , Garachukhur, Bakikhanov, area near the Koroglu metro station .
 
Construction of the third metro line, which consists of 2 stations (H.Aslanov -Zigh-highway-Military Academy) is the third priority direction. The length of this route will be 3.7 kilometers.
