New TV channels and radio stations may appear in Azerbaijan

The National TV & Radio Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan is preparing to announce a tender for opening of new TV channels and radio stations.

Council’s chairman Nushiravan Maharramli informs that today there are enough channels in the country, but one should continue developing this direction.

"Azerbaijan has sufficient number of TV channels, but we consider that we should not stop on the achieved, and must support opening of new TV channels and radio stations. In this regard, preliminary work on opening of TV channels and radio stations in regions needing that,” he noted.

According to Maharramli, the country has nation-wide level TV channels, but there are not regional radio stations, and a tender will be announced soon in this connection.
