
The 4th international Turkish handwovens (textile) and traditional arts congress commenced here on October 3.
The event is co-organized by the National Azerbaijani History Museum, Latif Karimov State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet and Folk Applied Art, Turkish Handcraft Research Centre under Seljuk University.
The opening ceremony was attended by scholars, experts from Turkey, state and governmental dignitaries of Azerbaijan, media representatives. The congress will see presentations on the history and cultural-historical importance of the Turkish handwoven and traditional arts.
Addressing the participants, director of the Azerbaijan History Museum, academician Naile Velikhanli, representative of Seljuk University (Turkey) Osman Kundurachi, first vice-president of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences Arif Hashimov and others spoke of the value of the Turkish handwovens and traditional arts comparing it with nanotechnology samples.
Then, the congress continued in panels.
