New Baku metro stations to be equipped with elevators

Deputy chief of the Baku Metro Arif Rasulov said new stations of the Azerbaijani capital`s metro system will feature both escalators and elevators. He spoke at the International Congress and Exhibition “Tunneling and underground infrastructure of cities”.

According to him, seven-carriage trains will be introduced on new lines under the Baku Metro`s development plan. “We will also install glass security doors at stations with the aim of preventing people from entering the tunnel.”

“Moreover, an air-conditioning system will be installed at new stations,” he noted.
Rustamov also added: “All necessary conditions will be created for the comfort of people with physical disabilities.”
