
The Honorary Consulate of Turkey has opened in Azerbaijan`s Lankaran region.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijani businessman Mubariz Mansimov, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic, Head of executive power of Lankaran Region Taleh Garashov, Azerbaijani and Turkish MPs and businessmen.
Garashov described the of the Honorary Consulate “a very remarkable” event, adding it will contribute to developing the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Turkish MP Ahmet Arslan praised the opening of the Honorary Consulate, expressing hope it would serve “for the development of fraternal relations between our countries”.
Another member of the Turkish parliament, Adnan Y?lmaz, noted the importance of the opening of the Honorary Consulate. He praised Azerbaijan`s achievements in 20 years of independence.
Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said the opening of the Consulate “is of pivotal importance”. “It is a great event, which is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan.”
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said “there is not an example of brotherhood as the fraternal relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the world”. The Ambassador noted the opening of the Consulate would “boost relations between the two countries”.
