Trial on group spying for SEPAH starts in Azerbaijan

Baku Heavy Crimes Court held a preparatory meeting on criminal case of the group members spying for Iran’s Guardians of the Islamic Revolution – SEPAH.

The process was held behind closed doors. According to APA, the defense side gave several petitions in the process. A preparatory meeting of the process will be continued tomorrow due to discussion of these petitions.

On March 14, 2012, the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan released a statement informing that as a result of operational measures conducted by the ministry, 22 people accused of spying against the sovereignty and national security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, treason and other grave crimes were detained.

Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Karimov Niyazi Alovsat, Aliyev Mubariz Ismayil, Taghiyev Elman Ramiz, Jalilov Nusrat Aydin, Gasimov Rahim Museyib, Zakiyev Mammadtagi Alikram, Hashimov Bahram Nazim, Abbasov Ayaz Faradagha, Abbasov Afghan Farid, Mammadov Shahin Hasanagha, Aghayev Miralasgar Mirgasim, Zulfugarov Rovshan Abdulbaghi, Alakbarov Hamidagha Tofig, Gasimov Seymour Sakhavat, Rasulov Taleh Aliyusif, Habibov Ceyhun Valeh, Karimov Elchin Alasgar, Mammadov Zahid Gulbudagh and others were involved in secret collaboration with the special services of the Islamic Republic of Iran –SEPAH, instructed by SEPAH officers they were spying, collecting and delivering information to use against the national security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, finding persons and putting them in touch with SEPAH representatives.
