
The construction of school buildings in quake-affected Zagatala region will be finished till the beginning of new academic year on September 15. According to the first comments given by the commission, we consider that the construction of private houses will be finished till the middle of October”, Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kemaleddin Heydarov told journalists after the meeting held with the representatives of relevant organizations of the executive power of Zagatala region and the managers of construction companies, APA’s local bureau reports.
The minister said that private houses would be handed over to the citizens till the coming of winter.
Minister Heydarov together with the local authorities and executives became familiarized with constructional work carried out in the region before the beginning of the meeting: “The speed of construction work is normal. According to the first comments given by the commission, we consider that construction works have been started everywhere. According to the citizens’ appeals, the commission continues inspection of some places and private houses are being carefully inspected again. Currently 12 working groups operate in the quake-affected region”.
According to the minister, the construction of near 3000 houses has been started: “As a result of second inspection, including in Shaki region, it was identified that 513 private houses in 4 regions were in emergency conditions and the construction works have already been started. At the same time, it was identified that more than 2000 houses have the necessity of repair and strengthening. Repair-strengthening works are carried out by the construction companies”.
