The Director of Administration of Historical and Architectural Reserve Icheri Sheher, Mikail Jabbarov, refuted the reports spread in the Turkish media.
Mikayil Jabbarov sent a protest letter to Hurriyet in response to the articles that appeared in on 13 August and 14 August 2012 entitled “Business Class Yolcusu” and “Iste o muhim kisi” accordingly.
“The articles are full of erroneous and libelous statements,” he said in his letter.
“It is a simple lie that I bought 19 business class tickets as you state in your article,” the letter reads.
“You also lied when you said that I demanded various things from a flight attendant, including transfer of somebody from economy class. I made no such request. Contrary to what you wrote in your article, I never made any threatening statement or remarks.
There was indeed some dissatisfaction expressed by a passenger in seat 4C (across the aisle) and I cannot judge whether his dissatisfaction was legitimate or not. At no point in time I interfered into their conversation. I know who this passenger is. So does THY as they would certainly have in their records the identity of the passenger in seat 4C. He is not a member of the government or any political party. He also is not a member of my family.
In fact, after the conversation with the passenger in seat 4C was over, the flight attendant served food and I had a very positive conversation with her. She even invited for my assistance because the dissatisfied passenger refused to accept her services. She asked me if I could tell him not to be angry at her. I said that regrettably I was not in position to tell other people how to behave. This was the ONLY occasion when I had a conversation with the flight attendant in question. Apparently, you saw me speaking to the flight attendant while she was serving food to the passengers."
“My personal and professional background can be readily found on Internet. I embrace the democratic values as my government and head of the state does. I respect media freedom. I respect human rights. I respect my professional duties. But I also respect myself. And I hope you respect yourself. “Hurriyett” is a well-known name in the Turkish media. Without any query whatsoever, you called me names I do not deserve,” Jabbarov said.
“ I do not condition or in any way limit my rights to protect my dignity and name by any lawful means available to me under Turkish laws or laws of any other applicable jurisdiction.”
"
I have
nothing to hide. I can only hope that you made all those wrong
statements without malicious intent," he noted./Today.Az/
