12 July 2012 [11:25] - TODAY.AZ
The traffic police reported that the speed limit on several highways was changed. The limit was  raised to 110 km / h on  the road section from the Garadagh district to the Gobustan settlement, from the   Gobustan settlement to the Hajigabul region, from the 31th km of the Alat-Astara highway and on the section of the Baku-Sumgayit highway, between the Khirdalan and Saray traffic police posts.

Central Traffic Police Department's division chief Kamran Aliyev said that the speed of 110 km / h is the optimum for these roads, he said.

The high quality standards of the roads, creation of  the conditions for security, fencing of roads, lack of intersections with other roads, allowed  to increase the speed limit. The increase in speed as was necessary with a view to reduce the density of traffic flows. Earlier on these roads the maximum speed was 90 km / h.
