Afghanistan, Azerbaijan share experience in demining operations

General Director of National Disaster Management Office of Afghanistan Mohammad Daim Kakar, the head of the second vice-president’s office Abdul Hamid Nab and the director of Mine Cleaning Department of Afghanistan Samandari Mohd Gasim visited Azerbaijan;s Fizuli region.

The director of Mine Cleaning Department of Tajikistan Muhabbed Ibrohimov is also on a visit to Azerbaijan.

The Afghan delegation together with Director of Mine Cleaning Department of Tajikistan visited the ANAMA’s Fuzuli Regional Base in order to familiarize with the operative work and mine cleaning technology, the press service of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action said.

The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan in mine cleaning sphere was established in 2009. ANAMA has done much work for establishing the national potential of Mine Cleaning Department of Afghanistan, the evaluation of quality, the assistance in such spheres as the Information Management System of Mine Action and the Awareness of Mines Danger, and also 24000 educational supplies were given to students and 1500 to teachers of the Mine Training Centre within the Azerbaijan-Afghanistan Cooperation Program “Humanitarian assistance in non-military spheres”.
