Baku's Mardakan becomes twin towns with Polish Nadarzyn

Mardakan district of Khazar region, Baku and Nadarzyn village of Pruszków county, Poland have became twin towns.

The decision was adopted during the visit of head of Khazar region Gulaga Islamov and his accompanied delegation to Nadarzyn village of Poland. The delegation visited gymnasium after John Paul II in Nadarzyn.

Islamov updated the pupils and teaching staff on Khazar region and new schools built here. He recalled meeting of John Paul II to Baku.

Islamov offered to organize reciprocal visits of pupils and teaching staffs of Mardakan and Nadarzyn.

The delegation also visited the kindergarten, historical monuments and Chopin`s house-museum, thermal water treatment center and Jakub Jasinki lyceum N 72.

Azerbaijani delegation participated in a parliamentary meeting. Mayor of Nadarzyn Janusz Grzyb briefed about Azerbaijan and Baku`s Khazar region. Islamov said 20% of Azerbaijani lands were occupied by Armenians and more than one million people became refugees and IDPs.

The delegation also visited Jakub Jasinki lyceum N 72. On behalf of Janusz Grzyb, a reception was arranged for Azerbaijani delegation.
