CMO department to be established in Georgia

Constituent Assembly of the Caucasus Muslims Office's department will be held in Tbilisi on June 27. Azerbaijani delegation at the Assembly will be chaired by First Deputy Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Mufti Salman Musayev.

The event will be also attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tbilisi and the Diaspora.

In May 2011, a conflict situation occurred in connection with the establishment of the Georgian Muslim Office, headed by Mufti Jemal Paksadze. The office was established in order to control activities of mosques and Islamic communities in the country, whereas previously these powers belonged to the Caucasus Muslims Office.
