Baku to host int'l symposium on innovations

Public association of Intellectual Property & Innovations has specified time for holding of international symposium " Transfer of innovative technologies : marketing and conclusion of contracts".

Chairman of Public association of Intellectual Property & Innovations Aminaga Sadigov has reported that the symposium scheduled for holding on 6-7 June has been postponed for this October.

"We could not hold the symposium in June as most hotels in the country were occupied during Eurovision and most foreign and local experts go on summer holidays in summer. In this connection we decided to hold the symposium on 25-26 October",- he noted.

According to A. Sadigov the Association was originally planning to receive the grant for AZN 39.000 of Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan to implement the project but received only AZN 25.000.

" In this connection we had to invite 6 international and 50 local experts instead of planed 10 high level experts ",- he noted.

The project aim is to increase the influence of scientific work in the development of country’s innovative activities, foster economy as a whole and non-oil sector in particular by protecting intellectual property rights. The symposium will raise issues of marketing for use of new technologies, conclusion of contracts, research the issues of protection of intellectual property rights.

The symposium will focus on the question of equitable distribution of intellectual property rights between the government, academic institution and the author of a scientific achievement or technology in the process of their transfer.
