Gabala hosts int'l conference on soil science

An international conference on the topic “Soils of Azerbaijan: genesis, geography, melioration, rational use and ecology” started on Friday here has continued its work in Gabala region of Azerbaijan.

The conference co-organized by the Department of Agrarian Sciences of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the Soil Scientists Society is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the prominent representative of soil science Mukhtar Abduyev.

According to ANAS, participants watched a documentary on national leader and founder and architect of the modern state of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. Addressing the event, president of the European Confederation of Soil Science Societies (ECSSS) Nicola Senesi touched upon the significance of the event.

Nicola Senesi hailed the redevelopment works in Azerbaijan stressing rapid development of socio-economic, cultural and scientific spheres.

The conference featured reports of sciences and experts from Turkey, Russia, Austria, Italy, Israel, Spain, Poland, Mexico, Czech Republic, Romania, Georgia, Korea.
