State program developed to protect disabled persons’ social rights

Final stage of discussions on the draft state programme on the social protection of the rights of disabled persons in 2012-2015 was held during the meeting held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the ministry said on Friday.

During the meeting, members of the working group established at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection for the improvement of national legislation for the protection of social rights of persons with disabilities, held a meeting with representatives of civil society, who have expressed their opinions and suggestions.

Head of department of the social protection of disabled persons under the Ministry Vugar Hasanov noted that the improvement of the legal framework is of great importance for vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities.

"This project will better protect the interests of vulnerable groups, including those with disabilities," Hasanov said.

This programme will soon be submitted to the Government of Azerbaijan, the report says.
